Lori Pink, L.C.S.W. is a licensed psychotherapist who has maintained a private practice in the Plantation/Ft. Lauderdale area since 1992. She is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, a member of the National Association of Social Workers, an Associate Member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, a member of the Florida Society for Clinical Hypnosis and a Certified Hypnotherapist.
Lori provides counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. Lori has had extensive experience in individual and couple’s counseling. Her areas of expertise include relationship and intimacy enhancement; bereavement concerns, whether through death, divorce or relationship loss; mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks and obsessive-compulsive behaviors; and bariatrics (obesity). Lori currently serves as a consultant to a medically and surgically based weight loss program. She also helps patients with balancing career and family, maintaining relationships, body image, parenting issues, and general communication styles and interactions.
She is particularly interested in facilitating individual life satisfaction and superior individual fulfillment. Lori relies upon her twelve years of post-graduate experience and utilizes cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, brief solution-focused therapy, hypnosis and effective listening to assist individuals to achieve balance in life. Lori is a trained, certified Hypnotherapist who has helped people quit smoking, reduce anxiety, manage chronic pain and experience past-life regression.
Lori meets with couples to assist in increased communication, effective conflict resolution, and increased intimacy. She believes that individuals who demonstrate personal effectiveness, effective communication skills and high levels of personal satisfaction benefit from a heightened sense of spirituality and intimacy.
Lori has served as a supervisor and consultant for other therapists and was the featured psychotherapist on the television talk show Sex Talk. She has assisted clients with the Broward County court system, and given community lectures.
Lori claims a sub-specialty in Bariatric Psychology. This area of expertise in the psychology of obesity, partners well with her work in Bariatric Surgery. She conducts psychological assessments for bariatric surgery candidates and runs a post-operative support group. She is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and provides both pre-op and post-operative individual psychotherapy to assist with the dramatic lifestyle changes and psychological impact of weight loss surgery.
